For over 20 years CRAC has been one of the leading
providers of careers information and skills development
programmes in schools and colleges.
We work in partnership with schools, colleges, employers
and a wide range of other agencies including the Department
for Education and Skills, Learning and Skills Councils,
Local Education Authorities, Connexions services and
Education Business Partnerships.
In the last year, CRAC has worked with 1,000 schools
and over 12,000 young people have benefited from our
events and programmes.
14-19 programmes
Our learning programmes develop the skills of young
people and prepare them for the world of work.
partners in enterprise
Our Enterprise InterActive events help students to
understand and develop the skills needed in every
workplace, regardless of their chosen career path.
Students work in small groups, alongside a Team Facilitator
from the workplace, to create an enterprise idea.
They follow the process through from start to finish
by raising the finance for the enterprise, taking
into consideration the associated risks of such action, manufacturing the product, analysing the customer
requirements and creating a Sales and Marketing strategy.
CRAC uses an experiential model which means that by
learning through doing the students are able to identify
their own strengths and weaknesses and understand
the skills that are important in today's workplace
and how these skills relate to enterprising behaviour.
staff development
Our staff development courses are designed specifically
for senior managers who work in schools and colleges.
conferences
CRAC produces a leading edge national conference programme
for teachers and careers advisers covering a variety
of themes across the lifelong learning spectrum.
membership
Over 100 schools and colleges enjoy the benefits of
CRAC membership, including discounts on services and
events, networking and information briefings.
publications and research
CRAC supports career guidance practitioners and their
clients with an extensive range of career-related
publications and research.
informing policy
CRAC aims to influence and shape the policy making
process as it relates to the career development and
employability of young people.
involving employers
All our programmes involve employer input and support.
As well as adding a valuable dimension for participants,
employers also benefit from high quality staff development
and profiling opportunities.
